Checking your credit report regularly is a key part of any financial plan. Not only does it give you insight into your creditworthiness, but also helps you detect fraudulent activity before it gets out of hand. The credit union encourages members to actively monitor your report for fraudulent activity throughout the year. Doing so can help you avoid costly identity theft which can adversely affect your credit score. To monitor your credit activity throughout the year, you can purchase additional reports.

Annual credit report

Federal law requires reporting companies to provide a free annual credit report to consumers. The three national reporting agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion are processing requests for free annual credit reports. These do not provide credit scores or provide the option to monitor your credit. You can request your free annual credit report in one of three ways:
