85 Years of U+Me: A Celebration of U
We’re proud to be UMe, because the relationship between U and Me is what matters most. That connection is at the heart of everything we do.
In 1940, a small group of Burbank teachers came together with a simple idea: to support one another financially and build something meaningful for their community. From a desk in a teacher’s classroom, UMe Credit Union was born.
Eighty-five years later, that same spirit of people helping people still drives everything we do.
We’ve grown a lot since those early days—from that classroom desk to our landmark home in Magnolia Park. But no matter how much changes, one thing never will: our commitment to U. Because without U, there is no UMe.
This anniversary isn’t just about how long we’ve been around—it’s about the journey we’ve taken together. It’s about every real relationship we have with our members, every honest moment of support, every laugh, every challenge we’ve overcome, side by side. It’s about the trust U place in us, and the pride we feel serving a community we truly care about.
We’re proud to be UMe, because the relationship between U and Me is what matters most. That connection is at the heart of everything we do.
We’re a little different—and proud of it. We don’t answer to shareholders—we answer to members. We don’t chase profits—we focus on purpose. And we don’t believe banking has to be boring—because we know personal, meaningful experiences make all the difference.
We don’t answer to shareholders—we answer to members. We don’t chase profits—we focus on purpose. And we don’t believe banking has to be boring—because we know that personal, meaningful experiences make all the difference.
So whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning or just joined the UMe comm-U-nity, thank U. For trusting us. For believing in us. And for being the most important part of our story.
Here’s to 85 years of U+Me and to the future we’ll keep building together. Together, we are better. Together, we are UMe!
