Move Over, Cash — There Are Better Ways To Send Money In 2021

In today’s world, there are plenty of applications that can help you send money to people in a few taps of your smartphone. These apps make using cash a thing of the past, and for good reason. Aside from the convenience factor, studies have popped up over the past few years describing exactly how dirty—specifically how bacteria-laden—dollars and cents can be. (Yuck!)

Before we get into the third party money apps, we want to remind you that sending money through the UMe App is an easy and convenient option. With just a few taps, you can send money to a fellow UMe member, or even to a friend who does not have a UMe account (yet), in real time. If you haven’t had a chance to get this set up, give us a ring at (818) 238-2900 and we’ll be happy to help!

If you aren’t familiar with third party money apps, let us give you the quick financial scoop. Some of the more common and popular money apps out there are PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and ApplePay. All of these apps are free to access and connect to either your debit card or bank account, allowing you to send money and make payments through the apps. These third party apps can be beneficial when it comes to sending money to a friend, making purchases online, or even making contactless payments at certain businesses that allow it.

Let’s take ApplePay, for example. Once you’ve added the best card in the biz (aka your UMe debit or credit card) to your Apple Wallet, you simply select your UMe card, give it a tap on the merchant’s payment device, and your purchase is complete! It’s quick, contactless, and perfect for those on the go.

We’re happy to tell you that your UMe account can be integrated with these third party finance apps with ease. While the set up process might differ from app to app, we’re here to help make the integration process a breeze. If you’re linking your UMe bank account, you’ll need your account number and the UMe routing number (which is 322274132). To access this information through online banking, simply log in and click the “Routing & Account Number” tab in the Balances section of the homepage. If you’re using the UMe Mobile App, log in and tap the drop down menu icon on the top left corner, and click on the “Routing & Account Number” option. Easy peasy! You can also link your debit or credit card with the information on your card and your billing address.

So, there U have it. A quick run down on how apps like PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and ApplePay can be helpful in your financial life. We hope this article gave U a bit of insight into sending money quickly and easily (and keeping your hands clean). As always, if you have any questions, give us a call! We’re here for U!
